Description

We are Access Specialties - a proudly Kiwi-owned company in the business of repairing, servicing and rebuilding Elevated Work Platforms.

We’ve been in the business for more than 30 years and carry out everything from on-site breakdown work, hydraulic and electrical repairs to full 10-year inspection rebuilds on a range of EWP brands - including JLG, Dingli, Snorkel, Genie, Mec, Bronto, Aichi, Haulotte, Sinoboom - that are relied on by the likes of the NZ Fire Service and power companies across the country.

With a growing team of 30+ people we are looking for another workshop technician to help us meet the needs of our customers.

Position details:

Workshop technician Location: Mount Wellington, Auckland Company: Access Specialties Employment Type: Permanent, Full-time (guaranteed 45 hours per week) Hours of Work: Monday to Friday, 6:30 AM – 4:00 PM (occasional Saturday work may be required) Pay Range: $30 to $35 per hour (depending on experience)

About the Role:

Access Specialties are looking for a skilled technician to join our team. You'll work on a variety of EWP equipment & vehicles, with opportunities to develop your expertise in multiple areas.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Service and repair EWP machinery and vehicles in our workshop
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues
  • Assist with maintenance and upgrades on trucks and other equipment
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety standards
  • Work alongside engineers, fabricators, electricians, and hydraulic technicians to complete builds

Desirable Skills and Attributes:

  • Experience with hydraulics and auto electrical systems is highly valued
  • Knowledge of maintenance and general mechanical repairs
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • EWP (Elevating Work Platform) experience is a bonus but not mandatory.
