Trade Assist is seeking a Total Refractory Maintenance Technician to join the team working onsite at the steel factory in Glenbrook.
This hands-on role will see you working across a range of tasks including maintenance, servicing, and assisting with refractory materials. You'll be based onsite, working as part of a close-knit team supporting one of the country's leading steel manufacturers.
This role does not require prior industry experience - what matters most is that you are reliable, willing to learn, and have a positive, can-do attitude. If you're mechanically minded, computer literate, and enjoy practical work, we'll provide the training to help you succeed.

Your Responsibilities:
- Assist with servicing and maintenance of steelmaking equipment and materials
- Learn to carry out repair and preparation work with full training provided
- Support the safe running of day-to-day operations onsite
- Work closely with your team and supervisors to complete tasks safely and efficiently
- Follow all health and safety requirements and maintain a tidy, safe workspace
About You:
- Mechanical Engineering Degree VERY Advantageous!
- Forklift Licence VERY Advantageous! (We are able to assist getting this)
- Must be computer literate
- Mechanically and technically minded
- Ability to work autonomously
- A positive attitude to working in a safe and healthy manner
- Full class 1 clean NZ driver's licence
- New Zealand residency or a valid NZ working visa
