The Role We’re looking for a hands-on Maintenance Technician with a background in Mechanical or Instrumentation work to deliver first-class support at our cutting-edge industrial gas production facility in Sockburn. Fitter and Turner trades will be considered a strong advantage for this role. This is a varied and dynamic position offering plenty of opportunities to learn and grow.
You’ll work with state-of-the-art gas production and cryogenic equipment—performing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting plant breakdowns, and contributing to exciting upgrade projects alongside our experienced engineering team.

What you will enjoy doing:
- Perform maintenance activities including breakdown, preventative, reactive, planned, and unscheduled work
- Calibrate instruments and conduct preventative electrical maintenance for automated cylinder filling systems
- Contribute to plant improvements and projects, providing expertise and insights throughout design, installation, and commissioning
- Identify and contribute to plant improvement opportunities to enhance safety and productivity
- Develop and maintain knowledge of process plant and equipment to reduce or eliminate breakdowns
- Promote safety awareness within the team, ensuring compliance with regulatory and company standards
- Develop Job Safety Analyses for maintenance tasks
- Plan and issue Permits to Work, managing maintenance tasks to ensure safe systems of work
- Engage and manage external contractors as needed
What Makes you great:
- Experience with industrial gas system maintenance
- Ability to work flexible hours and be on-call when required
- Capability to work unsupervised and maintain customer relationships
- Good communication skills and high attention to detail
- Maintenance or project installation experience with flow control and ability to read P&ID drawings
- Compressors and refrigeration experience and instrumentation experience are highly regarded
- Trade qualifications within Mechanical or Instrumentation trades with demonstrated mechanical experience (Fitter and Turner Trade is advantageous)
- 5+ years’ experience in a related manufacturing maintenance environment
- ASME welding tickets and fabrication skills are advantageous
- Safety-focused with ownership, logical thinking, and ability to diagnose plant failures
- Ability to lead and be the go-to for maintenance issues, plan and organize maintenance schedules, and manage contractors
