Refrigeration Mechanic needed in ANTARCTICA!

Location: McMurdo Station, Antarctica, Full Time, On Site, Summer season (Estimated October 2026 - Feb 2027)
This is a full on site deployment. You will live and work on the ice for the duration of the assignment.

Key Responsibilities
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on refrigeration and cooling equipment
- Install and commission refrigeration systems using specialised tools and equipment
- Diagnose, repair, and service refrigeration systems and components
- Maintain accurate refrigeration inventory and order replacement parts
- Act as the Refrigerant Manager for CFC tracking, leak detection, and reporting
- Work with electrical components from disconnect through to equipment
- Communicate clearly with affected parties regarding planned work or impacts
- Submit reports and documentation as required
- Respond to emergency call outs during and outside normal working hours
- Complete accurate records of hours, materials, and work performed
- Work from job plans, drawings, schematics, manuals, and specifications
- Participate in community duties such as cleaning, recycling, and station upkeep
- Perform other duties as required
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Must be a New Zealand citizen, New Zealand permanent resident, or hold valid New Zealand working rights (No sponsorship is available for this role, WHV is acceptable with relevant experiences only)
- Minimum three years' experience as a refrigeration mechanic, including installation and maintenance
- Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, and diagrams
- Computer literacy and willingness to learn maintenance software
- Valid New Zealand driving licence
