Description

Our client is a locally-owned, leading manufacturer based in the north of Waikato with sites based in Waikato, Christchurch and Southland. They are seeking skilled and experienced Production Technicians for permanent roles based at their modern, industry-leading sites. We are looking for suitable applicants to work for this fantastic company.

About the role:

  • Working in a well-known, supportive and reputable business
  • Full time, permanent work with a guaranteed minimum of 40 hours per week normally worked from Monday to Friday.
  • Weekly pay of $26-$30 per hour
  • Overtime may be available

What you need to be successful in this role:

  • You must have at least 2 years of relevant work experience.
  • You must be reliable and capable of working within a team and independently.
  • You'll have an understanding of Health and Safety regulations and comply with safety policies and procedures.
  • You will be willing to work across different shifts when required
  • Additional skills such as gantry crane experience, forklift licence will be viewed favourably
  • Experience in formwork carpentry, steel manufacturing and steel fixing is desirable

Key tasks and responsibilities:

  • Interpreting drawings, instructions, SOPs and specifications required for the job order (including concrete products, and above and below ground water and sanitary products)
  • Selecting methods and materials required including fabricating moulds using timber, steel, fibreglass, polystyrene etc
  • Measuring set-up, installing materials, casting the products, stripping and finishing products
  • Responsible for maintenance, cleaning, calibration, tuning and fault finding of the equipment
  • Ensure that products are completed to the required standards and with correct product identification, recording and traceability for maintaining standards
  • Proactive approach to minimising costs - time, motions, waste, defects etc
  • Operating gantry and mobile cranes to shift products
  • Fixing raw materials including steel with ties, clips etc according to drawings and specifications. This may include operating associated machinery such as Steel Benders, Reinforcing Machines etc
  • Ensuring that a safe, tidy worksite is maintained at all times

Please note: Our clients currently have projects across the regions of Waikato, Canterbury and Southland and we aim to place successful candidates into projects within one of these regions based on their place of residence or preference. Daily commuting between regions and projects will not be expected but should projects within a particular region cease, relocation to an alternative region may be required, in which case notice will be given, and relocation policies will apply.
