An established and highly respected machinery distributor is seeking an Equipment Service Technician to join its Hastings-based service team. This role is ideal for a mechanically minded professional who enjoys troubleshooting, hands-on repair work, and working across a diverse range of specialised equipment.
You'll be working from a modern workshop environment, supported by a manager who values teamwork. While experienced technicians will be well suited, applicants with strong mechanical aptitude, a proactive mindset, and a desire to learn are strongly encouraged to apply.

What You'll Be Doing
- Carrying out mechanical servicing, diagnostics, and repairs
- Troubleshooting electronic, hydraulic, and engine systems
- Interpreting technical manuals, schematics, and service data
- Delivering reliable repairs with a customer-first mindset
- Supporting workshop efficiency and mentoring where appropriate
What We're Looking For
- NZ-recognised trade qualification (preferred but not mandatory) (Heavy diesel, mobile plant, electrical, or heavy industrial)
- Solid mechanical servicing and maintenance experience
- Diagnostic ability across hydraulic, electronic, and engine systems
- Confidence working with technical drawings and schematics
- Exposure to light engineering repairs (advantageous)
- Reliable, responsible, and safety conscious
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Previous team leadership or mentoring experience welcomed
