HVAC Service Technician

• Diagnose faults and repair compressors, motors and system components
• Install and modify equipment in line with drawings and specifications
• Test, commission and document system performance and repairs

We're looking for a skilled HVAC Service Technician to join a professional, safety-focused team in Nelson, working across commercial and industrial refrigeration and air conditioning systems.

This is a role for someone who enjoys fault-finding, working with quality equipment, and taking pride in getting systems running at their best. If you like solving problems, working independently on site, and being trusted to do the job properly.

Key Responsibilities You'll be responsible for installing, servicing, diagnosing, and repairing a wide range of HVAC and refrigeration systems, delivering reliable solutions and high-quality workmanship every time.

• Interpret drawings and specifications to determine job requirements
• Install, modify, and maintain pipework and system components
• Service and repair compressors, motors, condensers, evaporators, switches and gauges
• Conduct leak testing, vacuuming and refrigerant charging
• Test, commission and adjust systems for optimal performance
• Diagnose faults, overhaul systems and replace defective components
• Complete clear and accurate service reports

Skills & Experience

• Experience in HVAC service and maintenance
• Trade qualification in Refrigeration & Air Conditioning (preferred but not required)
• Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
• Commitment to safety and quality workmanship
• Willing to go through a drug and alcohol test
