Tā mātou arawātea | Our Opportunity:

We are seeking a self-motivated and capable Mechanical Maintainer who excels at managing and delivering a weekly work schedule, and who is keen to become a valued member of a highly committed team. You’ll play a key role in maintaining, operating, managing and continuously improving Mercury’s Hydro generation assets.

This permanent position offers genuine work/life balance with standard business hours, making it an ideal opportunity to enjoy stability while doing meaningful work. Our generation sites are well managed and supported by strong health and safety practices, ensuring you can work confidently and safely every day.

This role supports our Hydro generation sites across the Hydro North region, including Maraetai, Waipapa, Arapuni and Karapiro, conveniently located near Hamilton and Tokoroa.

Tāu e mahi ai | What you'll be doing:

  • Self-Management and execution of Weekly planned and scheduled work.
  • Undertaking Routine and defect mechanical maintenance.
  • Being actively involved with site Health and Safety
  • Taking a proactive approach to your learning and development now and into the future.
  • Help with Supervision and management of contractors when they are working on site.
  • Maintain strong working relationships with the maintenance and operations teams.

Tā mātou e kimi nei | We are looking for:

  • Heavy process or manufacturing industry experience, with a mechanical background (would be an added advantage)
  • Experience in the power generation, would be an added advantage.
  • The ability to work under pressure and deliver results independently.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Computer literate
