Description

  • Competitive pay + overtime, aligned with your experience & performance
  • Ongoing training & development, backed by a supportive, experienced team
  • Stable, well-established company with long-term opportunity & strong reputation

Why This Role Stands Out:

  • Competitive pay that reflects your real experience
  • Overtime rates for when you go the extra mile
  • Birthday leave - because your time matters
  • Ongoing training and opportunities to grow your skillset
  • Strong team support, without being micromanaged
  • A stable, well-established company that's going places

About the Company:

You'll be joining a highly respected, family-owned New Zealand business with over 25 years of success in the commercial automated door industry. Known for doing things properly, looking after their people, and building long-term client relationships, this is a company where good technicians stay. With continued growth across the lower North Island, they're now looking for someone who knows their craft and wants to be part of something solid.

The Role:

This is a hands-on, field-based role where no two days are the same. You'll be trusted to manage your own jobs across Wellington City and the wider region — solving problems, delivering quality work, and building strong client relationships along the way.

What you'll be doing:

Diagnosing, servicing, and repairing automated door systems

  • Installing and maintaining mechanical and electrical components
  • Fault-finding and problem-solving in real time
  • Communicating directly with clients and providing practical solutions
  • Managing your workflow independently while staying connected to the team

Who This Role Is Perfect For:

This is not an entry-level position. This suits someone experienced, capable, and ready to take ownership.

You'll likely have:

  • Several years in a mechanical, electrical, or service-based trade
  • Strong fault-finding ability (electrical experience is a big plus)
  • An electrical licence (or working towards one) - highly advantageous
  • The ability to work independently and think on your feet
  • Solid knowledge of the Wellington City and surrounding regions
  • A professional, reliable, and customer-focused approach
  • A flexible, professional approach to travel, overtime, and on-call work (including after-hours and weekends as required)
  • Full NZ Class 1 driver licence

Apply Now:

If this sounds like the kind of role you've been waiting for, don't sit on it - opportunities like this don't stay open for long. Apply now with your CV.

Please note:

You must be based in NZ, have full working rights, and be able to pass pre-employment checks.
