Class 5 -Hook Bin Truck & Trailer Driver

THE ROLE: The Hook Bin Truck and Trailer Driver is an integral member of the Ward team responsible for delivering demolition and redevelopment projects of varying size and complexity. This role consists of being able to work unsupervised at times, driving a tip truck with a range of bins to pick up and dispose of demolished building materials from sites and following instructions given by Auckland Management.

Your key responsibilities will include, but not limited to:

• Ensure all daily pre-start checks are carried out on vehicles before they operate and the correct paperwork to support the checks must be completed.
• Paperwork must be completed in its entirety with all check sheets, charge out dockets, daily run sheets and time sheets plus any other paperwork that is required for that days operations, must be handed in daily to the office
• Keep the vehicle they are operating clean and tidy to the highest standards.
• Any incident, no matter how small must be reported straight away after it has occurred – via either phone call or text message. Once back at dispatch office you must fill out an incident report form if you do not have one available at the time of the incident.
• Organised person able to get themselves and their equipment sorted and to and from work. Good time keeping, ability to think on their feet, sense of work balance, high degree of safety awareness.
• This person needs to be able to work as part of a team and be a very good communicator both verbally and in the written form.
• Need to wear minimum hard hat, steel cap safety boots and a high viz vest at all times.

What is required? As an experienced Truck and Trailer driver for a Hook Bin unit , you will be familiar with different trucks and Trailers - gearboxes (Roadranger) etc . With a minimum of 3 years’ experience. Must be a physically able as this role involves manually covering and uncovering bins.

You will also need the following:

• Hold a current and clean Class 5 HT license is essential
• Good knowledge of the Auckland/ Waikato area
• A safe and responsible approach to work, health, and safety
• You Must already be eligible to work in New Zealand to be considered for this Job
• Applicants must be drug free, punctual and hardworking
• Available to start immediately
• This Hook Bin Truck & Trailer unit is based out of our Meremere yard.
