Bulk Dispatcher

Rural Transport Ltd is a well-established, family owned and managed transport company with over 70 trucks. Our head office is in Ashburton with depots in Kurow, Fairlie, Waimate and St Andrews.

We are seeking an experienced Bulk Dispatcher to join our team in Ashburton. This role would suit someone who has experience in an ever changing fast-paced transport environment, sound knowledge of the agricultural sector, and highly organised. We would also consider an experienced and enthusiastic truck driver who is looking to move into dispatch.

Main duties include:

• Efficiently planning loads from pickup point to destination.
• Being responsible for accurate data entry of all job information being entered into our computer systems in a timely and correct manner.
• Ensuring our clients are liaised with and services provided in a timely & approachable manner.
• Ensuring efficient use of resources by managing driver’s workload and daily tasks.
• Ensuring compliance in all aspects of the job including health & safety, legal driver requirements, and HPMV’s.
• Ensuring vehicle maintenance is kept up to date including scheduled servicing, COFs and repairs are carried out in timely manner in conjunction with our Fleet co-Ordinator.

• Good relationships with clients, farmers and suppliers
• An organised and tidy work ethic
• Ideally you will have a knowledge of the transport industry
• Have an affinity with the rural sector
• Good geographic knowledge of the South Island
• Must live in a reasonable driving distance to Ashburton.
