2Fathers Driver Training is seeking an NZTA‑approved Driving Instructor who can deliver Class 2–5 licence courses and D, F, R, T, W endorsement training to a consistently high, compliant standard.

• Have strong, practical experience delivering heavy vehicle and endorsement training
• Are confident running courses while meeting NZTA requirements without shortcuts
• Value loyalty, honesty, and straight‑up communication
• Can work effectively with a driven, creative, sometimes chaotic business owner — and see that as part of a rewarding challenge
• Are comfortable contributing where needed, including Class 1 driving lessons

Critically, you understand that:

• Learners come in all shapes and sizes
• Some learners are non‑typical, anxious, neurodiverse, or have struggled in traditional training environments
• An expert educator does not treat these learners as incapable or unintelligent
• Instead, you are willing to think outside the box, adapt your delivery, and work to each learner’s strengths, while still maintaining standards and safety

If you rely on one teaching style, lack patience for different learning needs, or believe struggling learners just need to “try harder,” this role is not the right fit.

What the Role Involves

• Delivering Class 2–5 training
• Delivering D, F, R, T, W endorsement courses
• Theory and practical instruction
• Completing compliance paperwork correctly and on time
• Filling gaps with Class 1 driving lessons

Requirements

• NZTA‑approved Driving Instructor certification
• Proven experience running Class 2–5 courses and D, F, R, T, W endorsement courses (exceptional near‑ready candidates may be considered)
• Strong knowledge of Waka Kotahi / NZTA compliance and documentation
• Ability to deliver training confidently and independently

We may consider an exceptional candidate who has the practical experience, confidence, and capability to deliver these courses, even if you have not previously been the named instructor running them from start to finish.
