The 7 essential tools include: (1) Kneekicker (2) Carpet heat bond iron (3) Spiked carpet seam roller (4) Carpet chisel tucking tool (5) Rubber head hammer (6) Carpet scissors (7) Carpet cutter
The 7 tools are couriered in a simple box and wrap, easy to package and return. The stretcher is in a simple strong light wrap.
I encourage and inspire all first time DIY carpet layers with two pages of handy hints and info that help to make your work successful.
An example, in my info I share a great DIY alternative - if you havn't got a carpet stretcher then use a 4x2 hinged in the middle, work it as a leverage system by pushing it down in the middle, one end on the opposite wall and the other on the knee kicker, works brilliantly.
All this plus much more in my instructions included with every hirage.
My future changed after I saw carpet being laid. My turn came when I had to re-carpet some rentals that I had, this forced the good kiwi DIY-er out of me so I purchased my own tools. This has now saved me heaps for the number of times that I have used them. So these tools are available for hire, as I'm not using them all the time.
All you need is a good sharp Stanley knife and some good Kiwi do-it yourself attitude. I'm happy to talk you through in your laying if you have any questions.

Unfortunately, the carpet was not what I expected and I decided not to lay it. Due to the Easter holiday it wasn't possible to get new carpet in time, so I returned the tools. On finding out that I hadn't used the tools, Alistair waived the cost of the smoothedges I used and called it even. Couldn't get a fairer deal than that.
