Trade Me Property Impact Awards

Key Dates

• Entry Period - From 12am Monday 31 March 2025 to midnight on Friday 30 May 2025
• Finalists announced - 30 June 2025
• Winners announced - July 2025
• Awards Period - The activity, work or campaign on which the Award entry is based must have occurred between 1 January 2024 and 31 December 2024 (the Awards Period).

Acceptance of these terms & conditions: The Trade Me Property Impact Awards (Awards) are run by Trade Me Limited (Trade Me, we, us). By entering, you agree to be bound by these terms and conditions. If you are selected as a Finalist, and you no longer wish to agree to these terms and conditions, you must let Trade Me know and Trade Me will remove you as a Finalist.

Changes: We may vary any of the dates, criteria or terms and conditions for the Awards, and we may suspend or terminate the Awards, for any reason by placing a notice of the change on this website. If you have submitted an entry that is affected by any such change we will usually contact you and, where relevant, provide you with an opportunity to update your entry.

Eligibility

To be eligible for an Award, you must meet the Eligibility criteria. The eligibility criteria for each Award is listed below under the relevant category. In addition, and where applicable: entry is only open to New Zealand residents who (i) are 18 years and over, and (ii) are Trade Me Property customers (i.e. use Trade Me Property services, whether as a direct customer or as an employee, agent or contractor of a direct customer). Directors and staff of Trade Me and its related bodies corporate are not eligible to enter.

Eligibility Criteria, and how to enter the data driven award categories

Eligible Trade Me Property customers will automatically be in the running for data-driven awards, you do not need to proactively enter. See below for eligibility criteria:

• Salesperson of the Year - The 30 residential for sale quarterly award winners announced throughout 2024 are automatically in the running to win. The top 3 quarterly award winners will be selected as our Finalists for this award.
• Residential Office of the Year - Any Office that has advertised at least 40 residential for sale listings on Trade Me Property during 2024 will be automatically in the running to win.
• Rental Office of the Year - Any Office that has advertised at least 40 residential for rent listings on Trade Me Property during 2024 will be automatically in the running to win.
• Commercial Office of the Year - Any Office that has advertised at least 10 commercial for sale listings on Trade Me Property during 2024 will be automatically in the running to win.

Eligibility Criteria, and how to enter the submission based categories

To be eligible for the Awards, entrants must:

• be a licensed Agency or salesperson (as applicable);
• have a valid and active Trade Me Property account, in the case of an Office (or in the case of an individual or team, the agency you work with or for must have a valid and active Trade Me Property account), as determined by Trade Me; and
• apply through https://www.trademe.co.nz/c/promo/trade-me-property-impact-awards by completing the relevant Award entry form.

Trailblazer of the Year Award 2025

This award is open to all individual licensed real estate salespeople that have been in the property industry no earlier than 1 July 2023. Nominees must work within a licensed residential for sale agency during the Awards Period. Any evidence or activity that forms the basis of your entry must have occurred during the Awards Period. Entries can be self-submitted or by nomination.

Community Relationship Award 2025

This award is open to all individual licensed real estate individual estate salespeople, teams and agencies working within a licensed residential for sale agency during the Awards Period. Any evidence or activity that forms the basis of your entry must have occurred during the Awards Period. Entries can be self-submitted or by nomination.

Innovator of the Year 2025

This award is open to all individual licensed real estate individual estate salespeople, teams and agencies working within a licensed residential for sale agency during the Awards Period. Any evidence or activity that forms the basis of your entry must have occurred during the Awards Period. Entries can be self-submitted or by nomination.

Support Hero of the Year 2025

This award is to individuals in administrator and office support roles. Nominees must work within a licensed residential for sale or residential for rent or commercial office during the Awards Period. Any evidence or activity that forms the basis of your entry must have occurred during the Awards Period. Entries can be self-submitted or by nomination.

People’s Choice Award 2025

This award is open to all individual licensed real estate individual estate salespeople working within a licensed residential for sale agency during the Awards Period. Any evidence or activity that forms the basis of the nomination must have occurred during the Awards Period. Entries can only be submitted by: New Zealand residents who are independent of the salesperson or office they are nominating (i.e. not a relative or colleague). You can nominate as many salespeople or offices as you like.

NZ's Favourite Property Manager Award 2025

This award is open to all individual property managers working within a licensed residential for rent agency during the Awards Period. Any evidence or activity that forms the basis of the nomination must have occurred during the Awards Period. Entries can only be submitted by: New Zealand residents who are independent of the property manager or office they are nominating (i.e. not a relative or colleague). You can nominate as many property managers or offices as you like.

Entry period

You must enter during the Entry Period (defined in Key Dates). You will be deemed to have entered at the time we receive your entry. We will confirm that we have received your entry.

Maximum number of entries

You may enter as many Awards categories as you want, provided you are eligible. We will accept one self-submitted entry per Award category per entrant only (and we’ll likely deem the first self-submitted entry as the sole entry). ‘Self-submitted’ entries include where you nominate yourself, or an agency, team or office you work for.

Valid entries only

Judges will not judge any invalid entries. Late, ineligible, incomplete, inappropriate (to be determined in Trade Me’s sole discretion), corrupted, illegible, unlawful, defamatory, irrelevant, infringing, fraudulent, misleading or unauthorised entries will be deemed invalid.

Technical issues

We are not responsible for: (a) any technical malfunction in any communication network or platform; or (b) any entries being lost, received late, rendered illegible or corrupted.

Judging

Criteria

Submission based awards

Award entries will be reviewed by the Judges Panel and judged against the relevant assessment criteria. All decisions of the Judges Panel are final.

Judges are required to sign confidentiality agreements, declare conflicts of interest and withdraw themselves from judging any entry or Awards category that has a potential conflict.

Data based awards

These awards celebrate digital marketing excellence and acknowledge our top-performing individuals and offices based on their listing engagement performance on Trade Me Property throughout 2024.

Customers on Trade Me Property who meet specific listing criteria in the 2024 calendar year (the eligibility criteria listed above) will be automatically entered into consideration for a data-driven award.

The salesperson or office displaying the highest listing engagement relative to the local market in their region during the Awards Period will then compete nationally.

Overall listing engagement is calculated by combining total listing views and watchlist adds.

Trade Me Property reserves the right to disqualify for the data based awards, any entry which is found to have inflated its site activity through activity that is a breach of Trade Me’s terms.

The decision of judges for all categories is final and no correspondence will be entered into.

Further information

We may ask for additional information for an entry. If you do not provide requested information, it may compromise the judges’ ability to judge the entry and therefore your ability to be judged a finalist or a winner.

Finalists and Winners

There will be three to six successful finalists depending on the award category selected as follows:

• Salesperson of the year - Top performing residential for sale salesperson of the year - 3 finalists
• Residential Office of the Year - Top performing residential for sale agency of the year - 6 finalists
• Commercial Office of the Year - Top performing commercial for office of the year - 3 finalists
• Rental Office of the Year - Top performing residential for rent office of the year - listing - 6 finalists
• Trailblazer of the Year award 2025 - 3 finalists
• Community Relationship Award 2025 - 3 finalists
• Industry Innovator of the Year 2025 - 3 finalists
• Support Hero of the Year 2025 - 3 finalists
• People’s Choice Award 2025 - 3 finalists
• NZ's Favourite Property Manager Award 2025 - 3 finalists

Successful finalists will be contacted by their Trade Me Property representative and also in writing from Trade Me Property via email. The finalists will be invited to the awards ceremony to find out who the winner is.

We reserve the right to select another finalist if any initial finalist does not respond within 5 days of notification.

Entry content and Publicity

By entering, you agree that your name, job title, agency, photo and a description of the award (if applicable) may be published on Trade Me’s social media, within email marketing, on Trade Me’s websites and in relation to future Awards related activities. You acknowledge we may use your entry content and details for promotional and marketing purposes, including the name, logo and branding of your agency and office.

If you are announced as a finalist or a winner, we would love to promote your success by highlighting your activities and achievements. We ask that you take advantage of this and participate in all promotional activity (such as publicity, interviews, presentations and photography) surrounding your entry.

Winners packages (aka the Prize)

Winners will receive:

• Exposure on Trade Me Property including: recognition as a Trade Me Property Impact Winner on Agent or Agency Profile.
• Profiling opportunities through news/content reaching consumers (subject to availability).
• Online and/or offline advertising e.g. bus wrap signage, digital billboard exposure, online banners/social media/outdoor media in the local market (^subject to availability).
• Personalised marketing assets to leverage the win across its own platforms, including: Trade Me Property Impact Awards winner badge and digital and print assets.

• A Canopy Camping gift voucher, valued at $1,000.

Substitution of prizes

Where necessary, we reserve the right to substitute an award prize for a prize of similar value. We will notify you if we need to substitute a prize. All branding is subject to Trade Me property approval and prizes must be claimed and used prior to the timeframes we communicate to you.

Warranties

You warrant to us that: (a) you have all necessary rights, consents and authorisations to submit each of your entries and all the content in them (including all copy, images, video, and branding); (b) you are the owner or licensee of all intellectual property rights in the entry content, including any copyright or trade mark rights contained in that content; (c) all information that you submit is true, current and complete. If you breach any of these warranties, any affected entry will be deemed invalid.

Our rights to use your entry content: By submitting an entry, you grant to us a perpetual, royalty free, world-wide, non-exclusive licence (with a right to sub-license) to use, copy, change, edit, modify, adjust, adapt, exploit, transmit, distribute and publish the entry content in any media for the purpose of promoting the Awards, and/or our goods or services. You warrant that our use of any entry content submitted by you, does not and will not infringe any intellectual property rights of any third party.

Authorisation: If you are an office, team, agency or other organisation you will be deemed to have authorised the actions of your representatives (including principles, agents, contractors, employees and others) and approved all entry content they provide to us. If your representatives breach these Terms, it may cause you to breach these Terms. If you are submitting on behalf of any other person or entity, you are responsible for obtaining any necessary authorisations and consents required from them. Individuals entering awards categories are responsible for ensuring they have the necessary permissions and consents from their agency or office, in particular such consents that may be needed in order to license us the right to use their office and agency branding for relevant promotional purposes.

Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Trade Me shall not be responsible for any loss, damage or injury whatsoever suffered by any Winner resulting from their entry into or winning of any Award or receipt or use of any prizes (including but not limited to any direct, indirect, consequential, special, punitive or incidental loss or damages). Trade Me’s liability to any entrant or Winner will be limited in any circumstances to a maximum of $100.

Terms, Privacy and Breach

Trade Me will collect and hold any personal information in accordance with our Privacy Policy. Trade Me’s policies, terms and conditions apply with all necessary modification to the Awards. If you breach these Terms (or any of Trade Me’s other terms and policies), we may (in our absolute discretion) invalidate the relevant entry or all of your entries.
