Forestry Machinery Plant Operator

Keen to get paid come rain, hail or shine? At C3 Ltd we have a permanent position available with a guaranteed minimum number of hours, equivalent to 30-40 hours per week. Rates of pay start at $31.83 per hour for experienced, competent operators. Our operation runs 24/7 and operates in most weathers. Staff need to be flexible with their working hours as there are a range of shifts up to 12 hours long that are influenced by shipping schedules.

Plant Operators drive heavy machinery on the wharf for the loading and unloading of logs from trucks and rail as they arrive at the port. The Operators ensure that the logs are safely moved and stacked neatly and accurately in rows, so that they can be moved to the ship's side when they are required to be loaded onto log vessels.

C3 operate a variety of heavy machinery including High Stackers and Pivot Steers with log grapples. As the role involves operating large machinery in a confined space on the wharf accuracy, attention to detail and a strong focus on Health & Safety are a priority.

You will hold a minimum of a full Class 1 licence with W endorsement and preferably have forestry experience in a log fleeting environment or similar. Training opportunities are available for the right candidates if you haven't operated this kind of machinery before but are motivated to learn new skills and develop a career.  You will be reliable, flexible and committed with the ability to work to deadlines and perform well in a team environment.

As part of the selection process, you will need to demonstrate your abilities in a practical pre-employment assessment. A pre-employment medical, drug & alcohol test as well as criminal records check will need to be passed.
