Job DescriptionWe’re looking for skilled Diesel Mechanics to join our Christchurch team. In this role, you’ll play a vital part in keeping our fleet of over 100 trucks running safely and efficiently. Your work will directly support our essential services and ensure our vehicles remain reliable on the road.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain all vehicles to a roadworthy standard and ensure compliance with regulations
- Carry out vehicle and unit servicing in line with preventative maintenance schedules
- Respond to call-outs on a rostered basis
- Work with Operations Supervisors to plan vehicle maintenance
- Complete thorough technical inspections of vehicles
- Keep accurate records of maintenance and repairs in job sheets and the in-cab Vehicle History File
- Manage workflow through the Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS)
- Requisition parts and consumables as required
- Carry out daily checks of workshop tools and equipment to ensure they are serviceable and accounted for
QualificationsWe’re looking for someone with:
- A Heavy Diesel Trade Certificate and proven experience in preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and truck repairs
- Knowledge of hydraulic systems diagnostics and maintenance, and/or automotive electrical/electronic fault diagnosis (preferred)
- Experience using CMMS systems
- A Class 4 Driver’s Licence (advantageous but not essential)
Additional InformationWhat we offer:
- Hourly rate of $40 per hour
- Permanent full-time role
- Location: 301 Marsh's Road, Christchurch
- Hours: 45 hours per week, rostered Monday–Saturday
- Shifts: 3:00pm – 1:30am and occasionally 3:00pm – 8:00pm
