Dunedin Truck Servicing Ltd is the authorised Southpac agent for Kenworth, DAF and Detroit in the Otago region, and the wholesaler and retailer of Supercharge Batteries from Oamaru to Balclutha.
Proudly 100% New Zealand owned and operated, we have supported the Otago and Southland transport industry for over 20 years. Our modern, purpose-built workshop in Green Island is equipped with the latest diagnostic technology and equipment, enabling our team to deliver industry-leading service and support to our customers.
We are currently seeking a Workshop Assistant to join our experienced and supportive team.
About the Role
This is a hands-on position and an important part of our workshop operations. You will assist in ensuring the workshop runs efficiently while working in a modern facility alongside a team that takes pride in delivering high-quality workmanship and excellent customer service.
For applicants who demonstrate strong mechanical aptitude and capability, there may be an opportunity to undertake a Diesel Mechanic Apprenticeship.
What We’re Looking For
The ideal candidate will have:
- A full, clean New Zealand manual driver licence
- The ability to work efficiently under pressure
- A positive attitude with strong organisational skills
- A team-oriented mindset and customer-focused approach
- A strong commitment to health and safety
- A willingness to learn, develop, and build new skills
- Flexibility to work extended hours when required
Key Responsibilities
- Maintaining a clean, tidy, and safe workshop and yard environment
- General housekeeping of the workshop and yard areas
- Assisting technicians with daily workshop tasks
- Supporting basic servicing and minor repairs
- Collecting parts and workshop consumables
- Assisting with customer vehicle collection and delivery
