Description

Our client is a locally owned, independent mortgage advisory firm based in central Hamilton. For nearly 10 years, they have helped hundreds of client’s secure home loans with confidence. Due to ongoing growth, they are looking for a Mortgage Advisor to join their close-knit team.

This is an ideal role for someone with a banking or lending background who's ready to step up, build on their skills, and grow into a full Mortgage Adviser position over time.

About the Role You’ll work closely with two Senior Mortgage Advisers and a team of 7 support staff to manage the end-to-end lending process. A typical week might include:

  • Assessing clients’ creditworthiness and preparing loan applications
  • Submitting deals to lenders and workshopping applications with BDMs
  • Liaising with clients, real estate agents, solicitors, and other third parties
  • Prospecting and developing new customer relationships
  • Providing tailored advice on loan structures and lending strategies

You’ll need to juggle competing priorities and tight deadlines — but you’ll always have strong support from the team.

Must-haves:

  • Proven experience in lending, banking, or financial services
  • Exceptional attention to detail and strong organisational skills
  • Self-motivated and confident making decisions
  • Open to feedback and able to adapt quickly
  • Excellent communication skills and a team-player mindset
  • Comfortable using Microsoft Office and general cloud-based systems
  • Hold a Level 5 Certificate in Financial Services (or are working towards it)
