Te kōwhiringa | The Opportunity

In this pivotal role, you will partner with the Head of Finance and Senior Finance Business Partners to align financial operations with strategic business goals for Transport & Infrastructure New Zealand. You'll play a critical part in delivering accurate, high-quality financial services - from month-end reporting and budgeting to project performance analysis and process improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver strategic commercial advice and financial analysis to support operational decisions
• Lead project and general accounting activities, including budgeting, forecasting, and WIP management
• Ensure robust month-end processes, accruals, reconciliations, and reporting
• Project accounting: project creation. management, valuation, closing
• Oversee audit, compliance, tax, and treasury functions
• Drive continuous improvement and innovation across finance systems and processes
• Support and develop a high-performance finance team through effective leadership and coaching

This is a permanent, full time role that can be based out of Auckland OR Wellington.

Nga pūkenga matua | Important Skills

• 7+ years of experience in a senior finance role
• Tertiary qualification in Commerce, Accounting or related field
• CA/CPA qualified
• Experience in project accounting(advantageous)
• Proven leadership skills with a collaborative, solutions-focused mindset
• Strong technical accounting, budgeting, and project finance skills
• Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities
• Ability to manage complexity and drive performance in a fast-paced environment
