Description
This is a respected Auckland based main contractor with a Joinery division delivering projects for commercial and some premium residential construction projects. This is role that would see you developing your estimating skill being involved in their joinery division, but with opportunity in time to move into their larger projects in their main works division.
If you’re an Estimator at Intermediate level who thrives on accuracy, problem solving, and working closely with clients, this is your chance to join a contractor that genuinely backs its people.
Your Responsibilities
- Preparing accurate, detailed, and timely estimates for bespoke joinery projects
- Interpreting architectural drawings, specifications, and site information
- Working closely with the project managers and the commercial manager to ensure feasibility and cost efficiency
- Liaising with clients, builders, and suppliers to clarify scope and pricing
- Identifying risks, value engineering opportunities, and alternative solutions
- Supporting tender submissions and contributing to continuous improvement in estimating processes
Your Background
- Main contractor experience and/or experience in joinery, cabinetry, or interior fit out estimating
- Tertiary Qualified in Quantity Surveying
- Strong understanding of materials and hardware
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings with confidence
- Excellent attention to detail and a methodical approach to costing
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build trust with clients and internal teams
- Proficiency in estimating software
- A proactive mindset and a genuine commitment to quality
Salary: $100K - $110K + Benefits
