Drainlaying Opportunities – Build a Career in a High-Demand Trade!
Looking for solid, full-time work with great pay and the chance to learn a trade? We have opportunities available now to join drainage crews working on important projects around Canterbury.
You’ll be helping with things like water pipes, stormwater systems, and general drainlaying.
About the Role:
Whether you have experience or are looking to get a foot in the door, this is an opportunity to gain hands-on skills in a trade that’s always in demand. Day-to-day work is varied and may include:
- Operating small plant and machinery
- Digging trenches and laying pipes
- Installing sumps, pumps, and manholes
- Epoxy and waterproofing work
- General site and drainage labouring
What’s On Offer:
- Monday to Friday, usually 45 hours per week
- Potential to work toward an apprenticeship
- A good crew and steady work

What We’re Looking For:
- Previous experience in civil, construction, or drainlaying work
- Pre-Trade Certificate in Plumbing & Drainlaying (advantageous)
- Full Class 1 driver’s licence (WTR highly valued)
- Confined Spaces and Site Safe tickets (or willingness to obtain)
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test
