Precaster (Skilled Concrete Precaster)

About the Role We are seeking skilled and experienced Precasters to join our team and support our precast and construction projects across Hastings (Hawke's Bay) and Levin (Horowhenua). This is an excellent opportunity for candidates with relevant experience to further develop their careers in concrete and contribute to high-quality infrastructure projects

The position involves constructing and installing formwork and frameworks for concrete, with a strong focus on precast concrete components.

Your Responsibilities: You will be primarily responsible for:

• Read and interpret technical drawings and plans.
• Formwork methodologies for many varying types of formworks.
• Understanding the many forms of threaded connections and fixings.
• Accurate with dimensions.
• Good understanding of concrete reinforcements, placement, cover required, tying methods, support methods, lap joints, types and diameters.
• An understanding of Quality Control.
• Concrete pouring, screeding, floating, trowel finishing (hand and machine).
• A good understanding of the reasons for vibrating concrete.
• Knowledge of concrete tool maintenance (hand and machine).
• Measure, cut and assemble materials as required for construction.

Yours Skills & Experience: To be eligible for this role, candidates must have:

• At least 3-4 years of relevant concrete construction experience OR
• Tertiary qualification in concrete construction

• Reliable, physically fit and committed to long-term employment
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team
• Must pass pre-employment drug test and health & safety checks

Job Details

• Location: Levin (Horowhenua)
• Hours: Minimum 40 hours/week (Mon–Fri), depending on project demands
• Pay Rate: $28.00 – $32.00/hour, based on skills and experience
• Full time Permanent role
