Civil Construction Labourer | Canterbury

Temporary - Temp to Perm | Multiple Projects Across Christchurch

Join a trusted civil construction team delivering key infrastructure projects across Canterbury. With ongoing projects and long-term work in the pipeline, this is a great opportunity to secure consistent work, develop your skills, and build a long-term career in the civil industry. Experience in civil construction is preferred but not essential - if you have a strong work ethic and the right attitude, we want to hear from you. Having your Class 2 License and WTR is recommended, but not essential.

The Role

You will be working on a variety of civil construction sites across Christchurch, supporting crews on infrastructure and roading projects. This is hands-on, physical work where no two days are the same. Your duties may include:

• Assisting with general civil labouring tasks
• Trenching, digging, and site preparation
• Pipe laying and drainage work
• Concrete preparation and finishing support
• Operating small tools and equipment
• Assisting machine operators and supervisors
• Maintaining a safe and tidy worksite

This role requires a good level of physical fitness, as you will be lifting, digging, working outdoors, and on your feet for extended periods. Early starts (typically 5:00am-6:00am) are common, so reliable transport is essential.

What We're Looking For

• Positive attitude and strong work ethic
• Reliable and punctual
• Physically fit and comfortable with manual labour
• Ability to work well in a team
• Ideally have reliable transport and a restricted/full driver's licence
• Civil construction experience advantageous but not essential
• WTR endorsements or Class 2 licence beneficial (but not required)
• Able to pass a drug screen and criminal conviction check
