Weekend Shop Manager + Social Media Coordinator
Are you a people-person with a flair for retail and an interest in social media? We're looking for a confident, reliable Weekend Shop Manager to run a small, locally owned bed showroom in Palmerston North. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys working independently, loves helping customers, and is keen to take charge of both in-store service and basic online content.
The Role
You'll be responsible for opening and closing the store, greeting customers, assisting with product selection, and keeping the showroom tidy and welcoming. With plenty of quiet periods throughout the weekend, you'll also help keep the brand active online by creating simple videos, taking photos, and posting to social media. Training will be provided, so you don't need to be an expert - just willing to learn.
Pay & Hours
- $30/hour + 1% commission on eligible sales
- Friday, Saturday & Sunday - 10 am to 3 pm
- Flexibility available on Friday hours
- Additional weekday hours may be discussed
In-Store Responsibilities:
- Opening & closing the showroom/store
- Assisting customers with product selection and sales
- Explaining features and pricing
- Processing sales and updating records
- Maintaining a tidy, well-presented store
Social Media Tasks:
- Creating simple videos and photos
- Posting 2-3 times per week
- Keeping posts aligned with the brand voice (friendly, helpful, local)
During Quiet Times:
- General admin support
- Assisting with website/e-commerce updates
- Helping with basic marketing tasks
- Offering input across other business areas where your skills fit
About YouYou're friendly, confident, reliable, and comfortable running a small store solo. You enjoy helping people, you're organised, and you're happy to learn new skills - especially around social media and content creation.
