About the role
Step into the driver's seat of an excavator and play a hands-on role in shaping the future of the Nelson/Tasman region. From storm recovery to bridge upgrades and major infrastructure projects, you'll be at the heart of work that makes a real difference. Every day brings variety — operating machinery, supporting your crew, and seeing the results of your effort take shape in front of you. Benefits
- Competitive pay $32-$38 per hour (experience dependent)
- 30-hour guaranteed contracts for NZ citizens/residents

Duties
- Operate excavator safely and efficiently
- Conduct prestart safety checks daily
- Troubleshoot minor maintenance issues
- Assist team with site tasks as required
- Deliver quality outcomes on civil projects
Skills & experience
- Class 1 licence with W, T, R endorsement (Minimum)
- Excavator operating experience in civil works
- Ability to complete safety checks confidently
- Strong work ethic and team-focused attitude
- Reliability and commitment to project success
