Salt Projects is a growing Auckland residential construction company specialising in renovations, new builds, reclads, and now civil works. With a team of 16, we work across a variety of residential and civil projects, delivering solid results for our clients.

We are currently looking for a skilled and reliable Digger Operator / Builder to join our growing team in Auckland. This is a hands-on role combining excavator operation with general building support across a range of residential projects.

About the role

This is a hands-on, varied role where you'll be trusted to get on with the job and take ownership of your work. You'll spend a good chunk of your time on the digger, but also jump in with the building team when needed - great for someone who likes variety and being part of the bigger picture on site.

Typical work includes:

• Earthworks and bulk excavation
• Site cuts and house foundations
• Retaining walls
• Concrete driveways and slabs
• Hardscaping
• Pitching in with general building work when needed

About you

You're the kind of person who just gets stuck in - confident on the digger, but equally happy to jump on the tools and help the team get the job done. You take pride in your work, think ahead, and don't need to be micromanaged. Attitude is just as important as skill here.

We're looking for someone who:

• Knows their way around small-mid size diggers (WTR endorsement)
• Has some building or carpentry experience
• Can read plans and set out levels
• Has worked on residential sites before
• Is happy to work on their own or as part of a team
• Takes initiative and gets on with it
• Is reliable, takes pride in their work, and looks after gear
• Has a Class 2 (bonus, not a dealbreaker)
