Experienced Machine Operator wanted for rock placement work on civil construction projects in the Nelson/Tasman region. This role suits a skilled operator who takes pride in precision, safety, and working as part of a professional civil crew delivering infrastructure that matters.
Roles Available:
We are looking for machine operators with experience in:
Excavator operation for rock and riprap placement
Loader operation supporting civil and earthworks projects
What You'll Be Doing:
Operating excavators and/or loaders to place large rocks with precision
Carrying out rock placement for erosion control, river works, retaining structures, and drainage projects
Working to plans, levels, and instructions from site supervisors and engineers
Coordinating closely with spotters and ground crew to ensure safe operations
Completing daily pre‑start checks and maintaining machinery
Following site health and safety procedures at all times
What You Need:
Proven experience in machine operation
Valid WTR endorsements
New Zealand Class 2 Licence (minimum for driving roles)
Physically fit and ready to work in all weather
Strong health and safety mindset
