Leading Hand – Sheet Metal Tradesman (MIG & TIG)
Location: Otahuhu, Auckland
We are currently seeking an experienced Leading Hand Sheet Metal Tradesman to join a well-established team based in Otahuhu. This is a hands-on role with a strong leadership component, working predominantly on on-site installations across commercial projects.About the Role
You will be leading a small team on site, overseeing the installation of:
- Architectural facades
- Balustrades
- Handrails
This role suits someone who leads from the front, can read and interpret plans with confidence, and takes pride in quality workmanship.Key Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate a site installation team
- Read and interpret shop drawings and site plans
- Distribute work and manage daily tasks on site
- MIG & TIG welding as required
- Ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard
- Liaise with supervisors and project managersAbout You
- Qualified Sheet Metal Tradesman (or equivalent experience)
- Strong MIG & TIG welding capability
- Proven experience in a Leading Hand / senior trades role
- Experience with architectural metalwork installations
- Confident reading plans and setting out work
- Strong communication and leadership skills
