About the Role
This is a commercial contractor that has an exciting project pipeline ahead in the region. They are now looking for a Design Manager to lead and coordinate the design process across a diverse portfolio of $50M+ commercial construction projects. You’ll be working between consultants, the developer and construction delivery—ensuring the master programme is maintained while driving efficiency, buildability, and cost certainty.
Key Responsibilities
- Design Leadership — Manage the full design lifecycle, from early concept development to IFC documentation.
- Stakeholder Coordination — Facilitate collaboration between developer, architects, engineers, consultants, and construction teams.
- Technical Oversight — Review drawings, specifications, and models to ensure compliance, quality, and buildability.
- Risk Management — Identify design risks early and implement mitigation strategies.
- Programme Management — Develop and maintain design schedules aligned with project milestones.
- Value Engineering — Lead design optimisation to improve cost, performance, and constructability.
Skills & Experience
- Commercial construction experience with mid to large scale projects.
- Strong understanding of building codes, compliance pathways, and industry standards.
- Proficiency in BIM coordination and digital design tools (Revit, Navisworks, etc.).
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
- Relevant tertiary qualification in architecture, engineering, or construction management.
What We Offer
Salary: $140K - $170K + Benefits
