Are you detail-oriented and passionate about civil construction?
We’re looking for a Quantity Take-off Technician to join our team and help us nail accurate measures and keep our projects on track for success.
This role focuses on quantity take-offs only - not pricing or estimating - so if you love working with drawings and specifications, this could be the perfect fit!
Key Responsibilities
- Complete detailed quantity take-offs from construction drawings, specifications, and schedules.
- Measure works across civil construction scopes, including (as applicable):
- Earthworks and bulk excavation
- Pavements, roading, and kerbs
- Stormwater, wastewater, and water reticulation
- Structures, concrete, and common services
- Landscaping
- Interpret drawings, specifications, and revisions to ensure measurement accuracy.
- Maintain organised and traceable measurement worksheets and take-off files.
- Clearly separate quantities by work type, location, and construction stage.
- Respond to RFIs or clarifications related to measurement scope only.
- Update quantities in response to drawing changes or addenda.
- Collaborate closely with Quantity Surveyors, bid teams, and project teams to ensure quantities align with build methodology.
What We’re Looking For
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to interpret construction drawings and specifications.
- Familiarity with civil construction scopes and terminology.
- Excellent organisational skills and ability to manage multiple updates.
The role can be based in either our Timaru or Christchurch offices.
