The Opportunity:

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced and motivated leader to join our Canterbury team as a Survey Manager. In this role you will be responsible for leading our survey team and managing our operations to ensure we provide continuous support to enable our construction and project teams within the Canterbury Region.

In addition to the above you will:

  • Oversee daily operational activities including resourcing and programming of works.
  • Manage financial performance and reporting.
  • Ensure business objectives are met for growth and performance.
  • Manage the training and development of staff while fostering a collaborative and cohesive team environment.
  • Complete design checks, set outs and verification of proposed works and data.
  • Assist and calibrate operation of machine control on milling, paving and other construction related machinery.
  • Review design data from clients and prepare data for construction set out.
  • Effectively manage relationships to ensure continued success.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Previous proven management experience.
  • Extensive knowledge of construction surveying processes and practices.
  • Ability to communicate with clients, suppliers, site teams and direct reports.
  • A focus on delivery quality survey outputs.
  • The ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritise work and resource it accordingly.
  • Demonstrated leadership capability with a strong focus on people, safety and quality.
  • Problem solving abilities.

You will be a supportive and collaborative leader with a passion for developing and growing talent. You will also have a strong construction surveying background with the ability to develop others.
