We are looking for motivated and enthusiastic Pool Crew members to join our team at Cromwell Pool. This role is at the heart of our aquatic facility, ensuring every visitor has a safe, enjoyable and welcoming experience. Reporting to the Aquatics Supervisor, you will be an important part of a dedicated team that takes pride in delivering outstanding customer service and maintaining a safe environment for our community every single day. What you will be doing:
- Actively supervise the pool and aquatic areas to ensure the safety of all users
- Respond quickly and effectively to emergencies and assist customers in difficulty
- Maintain a high standard of facility cleanliness and presentation
- Monitor and uphold all facility rules, procedures and health and safety protocols
- Process admissions and sales accurately and assist with retail and programme enquiries
- Set up and pack down equipment for pool sessions and programmes
- Attend staff meetings and training sessions and take an active role in team development
- Report any incidents, accidents or ongoing issues to the Pool Team Leader promptly
Pool Crew job description
You will:
- Hold or be willing to obtain a New Zealand Pool Lifeguard Practising Certificate (PLPC)
- Hold or be willing to obtain a current Comprehensive First Aid Certificate
- Ability to swim 200 metres front crawl continuously in under 6 minutes
- Strong customer service skills with a friendly, professional manner
- Reliable, punctual and a strong team player
- Proactive, enthusiastic and committed to high standards
- Previous experience in an aquatic or customer-facing role is beneficial but not essential
