We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Swim Teacher to join our swim school team. This role is integral to delivering high-quality swimming lessons and upholding our commitment to water safety and aquatic education. Working closely with the Swim School Manager, you will play a key part in helping swimmers of all ages and abilities grow in confidence and skill in the water.

You will:

  • Deliver high‑quality, safe and engaging learn‑to‑swim lessons for all ages, from infants through to adults
  • Plan and deliver lessons in line with Swim School programmes, supporting swimmers to progress and achieve their learning goals
  • Build positive relationships with students, parents and caregivers through clear communication and excellent customer service
  • Maintain accurate records, lesson plans, and student progress updates in a timely and organised way
  • Work collaboratively with the Swim School Manager and aquatics team while maintaining current qualifications and best‑practice teaching standards

Swim Teacher job description You will need:

  • A current New Zealand Swim Teaching Qualification (or equivalent), with a commitment to maintaining professional currency
  • Proven experience teaching swimming lessons across a range of ages and abilities, from infants through to adults
  • Strong communication and customer service skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with swimmers, parents and caregivers
  • Confidence managing classes and adapting lessons to suit varying skill levels and learning needs
  • A positive, team‑focused attitude, along with good organisation skills and basic computer literacy
