Description

Grow your teaching in a centre that’s truly part of its community.

We’re looking for a registered kaiako to join our teaching team at Busy Bees Martinborough, where strong whānau relationships, tuakana teina connections and play based learning shape each day.

About us: Busy Bees Martinborough is part of the Busy Bees Aotearoa whānau, with the backing of a national organisation and the warmth of a small, community centred team. Intergenerational links and siblings learning together create natural tuakana teina relationships, and kaiako and whānau genuinely operate as one wider whānau. Large natural outdoor spaces and seamless indoor–outdoor flow let tamariki move, explore and care for gardens they’ve helped plant, while you’re supported by well set-up environments and interest-led planning. Learning journeys are shared through Storypark, a strong transition to school programme is shaped with local schools, and fresh Nourish kai aligned with the Healthy Heart Award anchors hauora and growing independence.

About you: You hold NZ teacher registration in ECE or Primary and bring a warm, steady presence. You know Te Whāriki well and enjoy designing play based, interest led learning that reflects each child’s identity and strengths. You value deep relationships, see whānau as true partners and communicate clearly. Bicultural practice matters to you, you naturally weave te reo Māori and tikanga into everyday routines, and you’re excited by tuakana teina, community connections and transition to school learning. You’re reflective, collaborative and confident using Storypark or similar to share the learning story.

Why you’ll love it here:

  • Full Pay Parity!
  • Discounted childcare
  • First aid certification, annual flu vaccines and staff uniforms
  • A generous PLD budget where you can choose PLD for your own learning
  • Comprehensive induction, mentoring and coaching and ongoing opportunities for career growth and personal and professional development

We welcome both experienced and emerging kaiako who resonate with community based, relationship rich teaching. Apply with your CV and a short cover letter telling us about your teaching philosophy and what you would bring to Busy Bees Martinborough.

Applicants for this position should have NZ residency or a valid NZ work visa.

We are an Accredited Employer.
