About Us - Mo Matou: At Educare Tawa we value spending quality time with the tamariki and providing them with quality education and care. We love for our tamariki to get outside and explore their natural environment. They have a strong sense of belonging to their kainga and we value our strong connection with our community. We encourage our team of kaiako to maintain a work-life balance and to make time for your own whanau.

Educare Tawa provides beautiful and calm spaces which create the perfect environment for our tamariki to learn through play while nurturing their own personal interests. We have a dedicated teaching team who have developed an amazing sense of whanaungatanga with whanau, making this a space that is enjoyed by everyone. This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a values-driven centre where relationships, quality teaching, and wellbeing truly matter.

Educare is an equal opportunities employer. We value and celebrate diversity within our Educare whanau and believe in recognising success. We proudly live by our motto: Learn, Laugh, Play.

About the Role - Mo te Turanga: We’re looking for someone who is passionate about caring for and inspiring young tamariki. As an unregistered teacher, you will work alongside our qualified kaiako to support children's learning and wellbeing throughout the day. You’ll be involved in routines, play, storytelling, creativity, and building relationships with both tamariki and their whanau.

  • Support the implementation of a high-quality early childhood programme under the guidance of registered teachers
  • Build warm, responsive, and respectful relationships with tamariki and whānau
  • Contribute positively to a collaborative and professional teaching team
  • Assist with observations, documentation, and daily routines
  • Maintain a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment
  • Follow centre policies, procedures, and health & safety requirements

You will Need - Etahi Ahuatanga E Hiahia Ana Matou:

  • A positive, reliable, and reflective approach to practice
  • Alignment with our centre values and commitment to children’s wellbeing

It's important to us that our teachers have a love for respectful practices, ECE knowledge and a passion for extending the learning of our tamariki. Respectful relationships are at the core of what we do, so we need a teacher who can develop strong connections between tamariki, whanau and our existing kaiako.

This role is part-time 30 hours per week, working on a rostered 6-hour a day basis.
