This isn't just a job for a 'stitch-it-together' operator. We work in the heavy structural space, where the steel is thick, the tolerances are tight, and the finished product stands as a testament to quality craftsmanship. The Role: Where Precision Meets PowerYou won’t be stuck making light-gauge frames here. You’ll be right in the thick of heavy metal fabrication, working on large-scale structural projects that require both muscle and a meticulous eye for detail.

• Heavy-Duty Fabrication: Working with heavy plate and structural beams.
• Precision Welding: Delivering high-quality MIG and Flux-core welds that meet NZ structural standards.
• Blueprint Mastery: Reading and interpreting complex workshop drawings to bring structures to life.
• On-Site & Workshop: A mix of precision workshop fabrication and occasionally getting stuck in with site installs.

What You Bring to the BenchWe’re looking for someone who doesn’t just show up, but steps up. You should have:

• Solid Experience: Proven background in structural steel fabrication and heavy welding.
• Ticketed (or ready to be): Ideally, you hold current AS/NZS 2980 certifications, or you’ve got the skills to pass the test tomorrow.
• The Right Tools: Proficiency with overhead cranes, mag drills, and heavy-duty fabrication equipment.
• Rotorua Local Pride: You’re based in (or moving to) the Bay of Plenty and ready to contribute to the local industry.
• Safety First Mindset: You know that in a heavy metal environment, looking out for your mates is just as important as the weld.
