Job Title: Part-Time Supermarket Maintenance, Cleaning & Grounds Assistant

Hours: Part-time, flexible shifts available

About the Role:

We are on the lookout for an energetic and enthusiastic Maintenance, Cleaning & Grounds Assistant to support our busy supermarket. This is a hands-on role offering plenty of variety- no two days will be the same. You'll play a key part in keeping both our indoor and outdoor spaces clean, safe, and well-maintained.

You'll need to be able to work independently while also taking direction from the compliance Manager. Flexibility and a proactive attitude are essential.

Key Responsibilities:

• Carry out general maintenance tasks (minor repairs, upkeep of fixtures and equipment)
• Maintain a high standard of cleanliness across the store, including floors, surfaces, restrooms, and staff areas
• Perform garden and lawn maintenance (mowing, edging, weeding, basic landscaping)
• Keep outdoor areas, car parks, and entrances tidy and presentable
• Handle waste disposal and recycling
• Identify, troubleshoot, and report maintenance issues or safety hazards
• Assist with ad hoc duties across the store as required

What You'll Bring:

• The ability to use a variety of power tools and commercial floor cleaning machines confidently
• A "can-do" attitude with strong initiative
• Good problem-solving skills and the ability to think on your feet
• Reliability, punctuality, and self-motivation
• Strong communication skills
• Previous maintenance, cleaning, gardening, or trade experience (preferred but not essential)
• An understanding of Health & Safety practices
• Good organisation and time management skills
• A friendly and approachable manner when interacting with staff, customers, and contractors
• A good level of physical fitness
• A clean NZ driver's licence (preferred)
