About WaterForce:

WaterForce is a leading New Zealand-owned provider of water, pumping and irrigation solutions. With branches throughout the country, we design, supply, and support systems for industrial, residential and commercial customers, as well as the agriculture, viticulture and horticultural sectors.

We are seeking a hands-on, proactive Water Industry Design and Sales Engineer to join our Blenheim team in a senior position, supporting continued growth in the Marlborough region. This role offers a balance of office-based design and project work, combined with field-based site visits and project management.

Key Responsibilities In this role you will:

  • Work with customers to understand their needs, provide technical advice and develop practical, value-based solutions.
  • Design high-quality water, pumping and irrigation systems that meet client and regulatory requirements.
  • Prepare quotations and supporting documentation for projects, ensuring pricing and scope are accurate and clearly defined.
  • Prepare project documentation, including construction drawings, as-built plans, and operation and maintenance manuals.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers and suppliers.
  • Visit customer sites to gather design information, oversee installation works and manage projects during construction.
  • Work closely with our installation and service teams, as well as external contractors, to deliver projects safely, on time, and to the required standard.
  • Carry out project administration including procurement, job costing, invoicing input and project communication.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of design standards, work practices, health & safety, and customer service.

This is a full-time role with a minimum guarantee of 37.5 hours per week, normally worked Monday to Friday between 7.30am and 5.30pm, with some flexibility and occasional additional hours as reasonably required to meet project and customer needs.

Minimum Skills, Experience and Qualifications To be considered for this position, you must have:

  • At least 5 years’ experience in the water infrastructure industry (such as irrigation, pumping, water reticulation, or related fields).
  • Proven experience in designing water / pumping / irrigation systems and successfully delivering engineered projects.
  • A strong understanding of pumping applications and principles.
  • Experience using computer-aided design software (e.g. AutoCAD) for preparation of drawings and plans.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with a high degree of accuracy in calculations and documentation.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills and confidence dealing with customers, suppliers and contractors.
  • Well-organised work habits, with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • A current full driver licence suitable for site visits throughout the region.

The following attributes are also desirable and will support success in the role:

  • Positive, proactive, and self-motivated approach to work.
  • Strong customer focus, and commitment to high standards of workmanship and service.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team, and independently when required.

What We Offer:

  • This position provides variety, flexibility, and the opportunity to work with great people and progressive customers across the agricultural, horticultural and viticultural sectors.
  • Competitive salary in the range of $100,000 – $125,000 per annum (based on skills and experience).
  • A permanent, full-time role with stable hours.
  • Supportive team environment and modern facilities.
  • Opportunities for professional development and progression within the water industry.
