Are you a motivated engineering graduate looking to make a tangible impact on community infrastructure? Central Otago District Council is seeking a Graduate Engineer to join our Three Waters team in Alexandra. In this role you will work “shoulder to shoulder” with a supportive team, ensuring our community receives compliant and sustainable water services.
Key responsibilities include:
- Development engineering support: Assist in the delivery of development engineering advice, inspections, and review of as-builts.
- Planning and policy support: Support asset management, planning, and policy activities.
- Research and reporting: Research relevant issues and produce reports where required, to the required standard.
- Asset information systems: Update and improve the accuracy of Council asset information systems, ensuring information included is accurate.

We are looking for someone who is conscientious, motivated, and keen to learn, with a strong customer service focus. To be successful, you will have:
- A tertiary qualification in civil engineering or a related field
- High level written and verbal communication skills
- A strong customer service focus
- The ability to work collaboratively
- A current and valid NZ driver’s licence
