Are you a qualified treatment technician looking to contribute to the wellbeing of your community? Join our team and play a vital role in maintaining the safety and sustainability of wai (water) in our rohe (region).

This role will have the exciting opportunity to join the Waikato Waters Done Well Organisation when it is established.

Te tūranga / The role: As a Treatment Technician, you will be responsible for operating, monitoring, and maintaining Council’s water treatment facilities to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and best practices. You’ll bring your expertise to ensure that the taiao (environment) and community have access to safe, reliable services.

Key Responsibilities:

Operate and maintain water and wastewater treatment plants and associated infrastructure. To actively promote and support health, safety and well-being so that ‘Everyone is Safe and Well at the End of the Day’ Mōu ake| About You: To succeed in this role, you will have:

Relevant qualifications in drinking water and/or wastewater treatment, (level 5) Proven experience in water or wastewater treatment operations. Knowledge of New Zealand water quality standards and regulatory requirements. Knowledge of Te Mana o te Wai and its application. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. A commitment to health and safety practices. A full New Zealand driver’s licence. Ability to drive manual, preferred. A passion for contributing to the community and protecting our natural resources.
