Assist with activities at Club Enliven Taieri and enhance the quality of life and connectedness for older people in our community.

The Role

As an Activities Assistant, you will assist in planning and implementing a varied programme of activities with a focus on practical workshop and garden skills with older people living in our community, who are at risk of being socially isolated.

In this role, you will

  • Assist with planning and implementing activities to enhance the quality of life, independence and connectedness for our members.
  • Provide support for our members needs where required for their safety and well-being.
  • Provide driving and kitchen assistance.
  • To provide support and cover across the wider organisation as required.

Hours: This is a permanent position, 14-21 hours per week (negotiable), 9.00 am - 4.00 pm Monday, Tuesday and Friday. Some flexibility of start/finish time and days worked required.

About You

Ideally, you will have an interest in older people and bring practical DIY and workshop skills.

We would love you to have the following:

  • Practical DIY or workshop skills
  • An empathy for older people
  • Creativity and practical skills
  • A sense of humour
  • Great time management skills and the ability to work both autonomously and as a team member
  • A current full and clean driver's licence is required.
  • The ability to drive a manual minivan.
  • Basic computing skills, including Word and Outlook.

Club Enliven Taieri operates Monday to Friday and is based at 171 Gordon Rd, Mosgiel. Club members enjoy transport to and from the Club, a two-course lunch, morning and afternoon tea and a raft of varied and engaging activities.
