About Our Role:

  • Brookhaven Retirement Lifecare, located in Beautiful Christchurch
  • Permanent Full-Time (40 hours per week)
  • AMs', PM's and weekend shifts

We have a fantastic opportunity for a Kitchen Manager, with a passion for working in a culinary environment, to make a meaningful difference to the lives of our residents. You will have a positive can-do attitude, have the belief that good food is important to well-being, and be great at working with people.

As a Kitchen Manager at Brookhaven Lifecare, no two days will be the same, but you can be certain that each day you will leave work feeling fulfilled knowing that you've made a big difference in somebody else's day. The work can be challenging, but it is also meaningful and rewarding, and your supportive and welcoming team will become your second family.

Skills & Experience

  • 2 years minimum experience working in kitchen leadership role
  • Experience in food preparation in a busy commercial kitchen
  • Experience in preparing menus
  • Good interpersonal skills – an even temperament is essential
  • Good communication Skills.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • NZ Diploma in cookery is beneficial but not essential
  • Understanding of Nga Paerewa sectors standards and applying the Treaty of Waitangi standards in the workplace.
