Medical Laboratory Scientist - Biochemistry Permanent, full time role (part time 0.8 FTE) Based across Waitemata District Laboratory sites

About Us

Health New Zealand Waitemata provides health services to approximately 650,000 residents of the North Shore, Waitakere, and Rodney areas. It has the largest population of any district health area.

About you

To be considered for this role, you must have:

A current annual practising certificate and registration with the New Zealand Medical Sciences Council, or eligibility to register with the Council. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Advanced computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. A demonstrated flexible approach to shift work.

The ideal candidate will also have:

2-5 years of recent experience in a hospital-based biochemistry setting Experience with biochemistry quality systems and data analytics, including quality assurance, audit processes, and interpretation of laboratory performance data Experience, knowledge, or qualification in microbiology, immunology or molecular testing is an advantage

The successful candidate will be required to work in both Biochemistry and Microbiology, participating in a 24/7 roster, covering North Shore Hospital and Waitakere Hospital sites.

Consideration given to applicants prepared to do further study in microbiology to support training in this area.
