The Role & Location We are looking for well presented, energetic and knowledgeable hospitality professionals, people who have a love for pizza and a strong knowledge in craft beer. A passion for exceptional customer service, and people who want to work with a team of like-minded individuals. If this sounds like you then we would love you to join the team as our DUTY MANAGER. The position is a permanent, full-time role – 30 hours per week preferred. The business is operational Monday – Sunday, so weekend work will be required at times. Located in the White Hart Hotel Courtyard on Queen Street, New Plymouth. Ms White shares the courtyard with other popular venues like Snug Lounge, Itch Wine Bar & Public Kitchen.
A Day in the Life:
- Create a warm and welcoming environment so our guests feel happy and comfortable
- Work with Management to ensure a smooth-running service
- Be familiar with all products and services, make recommendations
- Handle queries, and any complaints
- Follow cash handling and banking procedures
- Supervise the day to day running of the venue
- Drive improvement every shift through leading by example
- Helping to create and run staff training sessions to ensure the highest standard of guest engagement and product knowledge
- Assisting in stock management, finance and adhering to WHS and company policies
- Ensure the venue operates in accordance with our liquor license conditions
What We’re Looking For:
- Duty Manager certificate preferred but training can be given to someone willing and eager to commit
- A friendly and positive attitude
- Previous industry and management experience essential, as well as a willingness to learn and implement our way of doing things
- Willingness to learn new skills and work across different brands
- Flexibility in roster requirements
- The ability to work well as part of a team, and be efficient while working individually
- Strong leadership skills (experience in a Team Leader/Supervisory position is advantageous)
- The ability to comfortably communicate to all levels of the business
- Genuine passion for the hospitality industry
