About the roleWe are looking for a Café Assistant to work at our fabulous The Orchards Village, based in Glenfield, North Auckland. You will provide Barista and Café services in our established café. Reporting to the Kitchen Manager, you will be providing exceptional service to our Residents and their friends while also helping provide a great dining experience!
Shift: 2 days per week Sat/Sun or Sun/Mon 8:30 - 4:30pm (15 hours per week) option to work a 3rd day some weeks
Some of the great things you will be doing:
- Taking food and beverage orders from our residents, visitors and staff
- Making amazing cups of coffee (semi-automatic machine)
- Serving and collecting meals in our café
- Serving meals to our residents (in the care home)
- Operating the cash register
- General cleaning including café equipment and cutlery
- Additional Kitchen duties as and when required
About you You will have exceptional customer service skills, enjoy giving service with a smile and can effortlessly juggle several tasks at once. With some barista experience, some things that will support your application include:
- Impeccable personal presentation
- Mature and reliable with exceptional communication skills
- A good command of spoken and written English
- A Hygiene & Food Handling Certificate (not essential) as well as and/or commercial kitchen experience
