Chef - Operations Support – Taranaki Region

We have an exciting opportunity for a qualified Chef to join our team as an Operations Support / Floater, providing regional support across multiple sites in the Taranaki region. This role plays a key part in covering leave, supporting staffing gaps, and ensuring continuity of service across the region.

This is a permanent, full-time position (40 hours per week, rostered Monday to Sunday) and is ideal for someone who enjoys flexibility, autonomy, and stepping into different environments, including covering Chef Manager roles when required. No two days will be the same, so adaptability and a positive, solutions-focused mindset are essential. We offer competitive remuneration plus a capped monthly fuel allowance to support travel between sites.

About the role In this varied role, you will:

• Provide operational and culinary support across multiple sites in the region
• Step in to cover planned and unplanned leave, including Chef Manager cover where required
• Prepare and present high-quality meals in line with menu and food safety standards
• Support ordering, stock control, and basic team leadership as needed
• Work closely with site teams to maintain smooth daily operations

About you You will ideally have:

• A Chef qualification with solid kitchen experience (minimum 3 years)
• Experience with ordering, stock management, and team supervision (highly desirable)
• Strong knowledge of food safety and safe food practices
• The ability to work confidently across different sites and teams
• A flexible approach and willingness to travel within the region (own transport required)
• Excellent communication skills and a supportive, team-oriented attitude
