Catering Assistant – John McGlashan Cafe

Part-time: Monday to Friday, 9:30am – 2:00pm (22.5 hours/week, school term 37 weeks/year)

Cater Plus is looking for a passionate Catering Assistant to join our team at John McGlashan College. In this role, you’ll help run the school canteen cafe and support catering for school functions throughout the year. This is an educational role, giving you school breaks off to relax or spend time with family, with potential for extra shifts during special events.

What you’ll do:

• Deliver excellent customer service, understanding and exceeding customer needs.
• Support the kitchen team in preparing and serving high-quality meals.
• Maintain and care for kitchen equipment and ensure food safety standards are met.
• Work collaboratively to promote a positive, customer-focused environment.
• Provide feedback to the Site Manager to help improve our service.
• Operate the POS system accurately, applying discounts and promotions as needed.
• Follow all Cater Plus policies and procedures, including Health & Safety and the Food Control Plan.
• Carry out other duties as required within the scope of the role.
