Makereatu Technology Limited
Listing Description
Description
THE DETAILS – Pay: $30–60/hr depending on experience and qualifications – Hours: 30+ hours per week permanent employment – Location: Tunnel Beach, Dunedin, 4 days on-site, 1 day WFH – Start: as soon as possible – 3-month probation period – Learning & development actively supported; courses, conferences, professional development
THE OPPORTUNITY We build AI-powered tools for infrastructure governance. Our development team is growing fast, and we need someone who can hold the whole pipeline together — making sure the right work gets to the right people at the right time. You don’t need to write code. You need to be the person who makes the people who write code more effective.
WHAT YOU’LL DO You’ll sit between the founder (who sets product direction) and the development team (who build it). Day to day: – Run sprint planning and tracking — organise what gets built each cycle – Manage the development task backlog — prioritise, assign, and track progress – Spot blockers early and help get them resolved – Translate product decisions into clear, actionable tasks for developers – Coordinate QA — make sure features are tested before release – Maintain technical documentation and release notes – Keep our Notion workspace organised and current What you won’t do: write code, make architecture decisions, design the product, or manage client relationships. Those are other people’s jobs.
WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR Background doesn’t define fit here. Some of the best project coordinators we’ve seen came from urban planning, economics, psychology, public policy, or construction management. What matters is that you can hold complexity in your head, keep people on track, and communicate clearly across different disciplines. We have a strong preference for candidates with honours, masters, or PhD-level work — in any discipline. That said, the ability to hold complexity, think structurally, and communicate precisely is what matters.
You need to be: – Based in Dunedin — on-site at Tunnel Beach 4 days/week, 1 day WFH – Organised — you can manage multiple parallel workstreams without dropping anything – A clear communicator — you translate complex decisions into tasks people actually act on – Good with people — comfortable working between a founder, an architecture mentor, and developers – Quick to learn new tools — we use Notion, Teams, and Microsoft Power Platform Helpful, but not required: – Understanding of how software gets built — sprints, backlogs, testing — we’ll teach you – Experience coordinating projects of any kind: construction, research, events, campaigns – Familiarity with infrastructure or construction project management
