The Role
We are looking for a versatile Fitter-Turner with hands-on experience in machining, assembly, and general manufacturing workshop experience. You will primarily work on metal components, sprockets, gearboxes, and chains, contributing to both machining and assembly tasks.
If you enjoy a mix of fitting, machining, and hands-on mechanical work, this is the role for you.
Key Responsibilities
- Fitting & Assembly: Interpret engineering drawings to manufacture and assemble high-precision mechanical components, chains, couplings and gearboxes.
- Machining: Operate manual and semi-automatic lathes, CNC, and VMC machines for component production.
- Welding and light fabrication.
- Hydraulic & Pneumatic Systems: Assist with installation, maintenance, and repair of systems.
- Execute servicing and troubleshoot mechanical systems.
- Ensure compliance with quality standards and safety regulations.
Qualifications & Experience
- A Fitter/ Turner trade qualification is required
- Familiarity with ISO 9001 manufacturing practices
- Hydraulics, fitting, machining and general manufacturing experience.
- Hands-on experience in machining (manual, semi-auto, CNC, VMC)**
- Familiarity with metal assembly, keywaying, and general mechanical maintenance
- Hydraulic, pneumatic, and basic welding knowledge is a plus
