Extrastaff are currently seeking a Steel Reinforcing Machine Operator to join a busy steel reinforcing factory in Christchurch. This is a great opportunity for someone physically fit who enjoys hands-on factory work and afternoon shifts.
Shift Details
- Afternoon shift: 1:00pm – 11:30pm
- Monday to Thursday
Duties & Responsibilities
- Operating steel reinforcing machines (cutting and bending bars)
- Cutting reinforcing steel to specified lengths and bending to shape
- Ensuring accuracy to minimise steel wastage - good maths skills is helpful in this area
- Working safely in a factory environment
What We’re Looking For
- Physically fit and able person
- Experience operating machinery (steel reinforcing experience highly regarded)
- Good maths skills for calculating cut lengths
- Gantry crane experience is a bonus but not essential
- Reliable, safety-focused, and able to work independently
What’s On Offer
- $27 – $28 per hour
- Consistent afternoon shifts (Mon–Thurs) - Fridays off!
